This weather is absolutely ideal for Muskie fishing. The water temps have not taken a significant nose dive yet. There seems to be a perfect time where the water is cool enough to force the fall feed, but not so cold that it slows metabolism. The fish are in that happy zone right now. They are aggressive and should continue to be for the foreseeable future. November should be a great month to chase the green monster. For the Migratory fish enthusiast, things on the tributaries are just starting to get interesting. Many of the lakeside tributaries have good numbers of Browns present and those numbers will only continue to get better. There are also a few fresh Steelhead around. These are definitely some of the most exciting fish you can catch in the fall! The generally mild weather has kept the water temps fairly warm making fish very prone to the swung or stripped fly. If that is not your game, indicator fishing with egg patterns is about as deadly of a technique as there is for the lake-run trout.
