Help Tight Lines Save The Menominee River!

It’s no secret. We love the Menominee River and so do thousands of others that have experienced it with Tight Lines. To the extreme dismay of many, the river is currently under the threat of an 8 acre 750 foot deep open pit sulfide mine. That’s right……a giant hole in the ground containing toxic heavy metals and sulfuric acid a mere hundred feet from the bank. The implications of water contamination related to the mine would be absolutely devastating to the Menominee and surrounding land, air, and waters. American Rivers recently listed the Menominee among the top ten most endangered…

I’m working with Kathleen Heideman at the Upper Peninsula Environment Coalition (UPEC) (www.upenvironment.org) and Ron Henriksen of the Front 40 Group (www.menomineeriver.com) to raise funds to pay for a technical review of the mining company’s Wetland Permit application. We are planning on having an technical review of the mining company’s Wetlands…

In the fall his attention shifts to huge flies and rigid rods in hopes of a boat side musky ambush. His passion for…
